Counseling is a supportive process that provides a safe, nonjudgmental space to work through the challenges, traumas, changes, and struggles that we all experience in life. As the counselor, it is my job to listen and support the client, as we facilitate the healing journey and discovery process. I invite my clients to be active participants in the counseling process and to be present, genuine, and honest throughout our sessions. It will be important for us to develop goals for your treatment, identify small or large steps towards progress, and collectively provoke positive change.

I have experience working with all ages, individuals, and groups and have focused on addressing the following areas:

  • Change/Transitional Trauma
  • Family and Relationship Counseling
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Stress Management
  • Grief and Loss
  • Communication and Expression Challenges
  • Interpersonal Relationship Challenges
  • Career and Leadership Development
  • Self-Development and Exploration
  • Chronic Disease Management and Coping
  • Child Behavioral Challenges
  • Self-Esteem Challenges
  • Feelings of Being Overwhelmed, Helpless, Hopeless
My counseling experience is informed by several theoretical areas, including but not limited to: solution- focused, person-centered, humanistic, and cognitive-behavioral theory. I’m also trained in and integrate Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based interventions and mind-body medicine into my practice. I believe it is important to get to know my clients and will adapt my approach for each unique situation. Depending on the age and situation of the client, I have also used experiential learning activities and play therapy to supplement and enhance treatment plans.
Most importantly, our work together will be informed by the unique person and their experiences in life. We will work together to develop goals and how best to support the client in reaching those, as well as periodically review goals to ensure they are still pertinent. This is a partnership, and I am so honored to assist in facilitating and cocreating this journey with you.
